Christopher Serbagi - Of Counsel
Christopher Serbagi is an attorney specializing in intellectual property litigation, general commercial litigation, and trademarks.
He has successfully procured trademarks for both large and small companies. As an accomplished litigator, Christopher has represented clients in a variety of matters. Some victories include:
- Obtaining trademark protection for clients over the initial objections of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
- Winning on summary judgment against a cooperative board that imposed illegal fines on a client, a tenant in the cooperative.
- Winning at trial against a landlord who improperly imposed fines on a client.
- Negotiating a settlement for a client in a contentious trademark litigation.
- Successful settlement for a client who was sold defective goods.
- Recouping a client’s funds in a commercial fraud case.
- Representing clients in successful trademark litigations against major liquor distributors and restaurants.
Christopher is also an Adjunct Professor at the Cardozo School of Law, where he teaches legal writing. He is an accomplished author in the legal field, and has written numerous articles on litigation and intellectual property, including a chapter on pre-trial litigation strategies in the well known book published by BNA, “Patent Litigation Strategies”.
Christopher graduated at the top of his class at the Cardozo School of Law. While at Cardozo, he clerked for United States District Court Judge Charles S. Haight in the Southern District of New York. Christopher received his undergraduate degree from Vassar College in 1986.
Christopher spent two years at the intellectual property law boutique Darby & Darby. He spent seven years at international law firms Rogers & Wells and then Clifford Chance, where he practiced intellectual property litigation, general commercial litigation, and trademark prosecution.
In addition to his expertise in intellectual property and litigation, Christopher also handles real estate transactions, probate matters, and contract drafting.
